Use this board as a place to discuss issues with the site or the services, discuss desired features, and discuss the development of the site itself (vichan or an eventual replacement). This thread itself can serve as a general place for discussion where threads aren't needed.

The old thread on /0040/ is being deprecated. I would move it, but for now I don't know if this is possible, so I will be locking it and keeping it as a legacy thread until I can make an archive.

Are banners still not working?

It's not that they're not working, it's that I need to figure out first how to change all the templates in vichan to php files so I can use a php random image tumbler.

Why do you need to do that? Just apply this patch to styles.css and it should work like it did on the old site:

As a plain-text file so it deserves the white space and three minus signs:

I'll have to pull those php scripts since they're not in arisuchan's fork, but I'll try this later and see if I can get it to work.

https://0ch.io/b.php seems to work for me but I edited the wrong css, it should be style.css not styles.css

I think I recall seeing arisuchan mods do it maybe it's some bug in the fork?

ah, sry, still have to try this I just have been dealing with the matrix server lately and having some problems with my VPS and also a different project going on

Either that or they haven't pushed their changes to the code, which is what I suspect

Ah, that's annoying. Are you still on 'good terms' with the arisuchan staff? Ask some of them and see if they're willing to share/help.

Any updates on this, n1x?

been out of town this weekend. I can try asking seph but idk if we're on particularly good terms anymore.

If you can't fix it in the short term could you please just replicate said threads (the tor one is especially important for me) into their designated places? I have a thread or two in mind.
Thanks

I remade the Tor thread, go wild

 No.24

Please remove the two Dischord threads being repeatedly bumped onto the front page of /ukko/. They're clearly unwelcomed. And they're two.

Updating on this: I've been somewhat unproductive lately due to a couple different things getting in the way, but I'll see about asking seph if they've pushed the changes and if not I'll just figure out how to get the old script to work.

What I really need to do is fix our docker image and push vichan to our gogs installation so people can help me fix shit like this.

>>21
The tor thread thing is a separate issue, and honestly while I get that it's super inconvenient and not really expected behavior, I'm considering leaving this as the default because I'm slightly concerned with allowing tor users to make thread. Unfortunately, being an anarchist imageboard owned by a degenerate means that we're pretty likely to get raided again at some point, and allowing tor users to make threads makes this very easy to do.

But it's also not expected behavior and could always be changed later when I figure out why it's happening, so idk.

There is no top bar or fancy landing page on the .onion version of this thing. Any chance of that getting fixed?

I like the changes so far 👍

oh shit, I wasn't aware of this. Yes I will work on fixing that this week.

~~test - is this ~x2 = strikethrough?~~

Also while I'm at it; n1x make an /about where general info like formatting codes and the .onion link is written among other such things.

red text?

Italics and red text both work they just have no style in the css.

sorry, I've just had a lot going on.

I just took a look at the tor site and I'm able to navigate to the landing page, but for some reason server side includes aren't showing up in tor (which is what I used to add the navbar and the news so I don't need to use some shitty javascript hack).

I would rather do this through PHP anyways. The problem is I would need to change all the pages in vichan to end in .php, otherwise a bunch of links would break. I was looking into this a month ago but I got sidetracked and hadn't figured out yet how to change that in vichan.

EDIT: Forgot to add name

maybe it's some vhost thing?

if you're using apache2 you can have it use php for all html-ish things, there shouldn't be any need to change filenames
